If you’re a social butterfly like I am, EVERYTHING happens over the weekend.

The problem was that I had gotten so accustom to needing to be “in-the-know.” Well, I didn’t NEED to be “in-the-know.” But you get what I’m saying. 

I wanted to know what social events were happening around me, and I wanted to be able to swipe TikTok and Instagram reels in my bed until I fell asleep.

This detox forced me to reach back to my pre-social media years and actually talk to people when I really didn’t want to.

After all, it was so much quicker finding the information I needed from whatever device was in the palm of my hand.

When I was growing up, there was no real technology other than the tv, stereo, and landline phones (just to name a few). 

Therefore, one had no choice but to communicate with people; and now fast forward to the 21st century. I felt terribly out of sorts doing what was the norm back then. 

I kept feeling like I needed some device in my hand or to constantly check “something.” 

Finding a balance between work and social life during a digital detox is tough.

Probably like you, my inbox is always full, and my friends are always planning a get-together.

But I’ve found that setting clear boundaries helps.
