Hi, I’m Rita, an English teacher with a passion for writing that I’ve kept hidden for far too long. For years, I’ve known I should’ve started blogging but never quite took the leap—until now. Like many others, I’ve been my own worst critic. Writing for myself or my students comes naturally, but sharing my work with the world? That’s a whole different story.
Over the years, I’ve had to quiet that inner voice of doubt, and it hasn’t been easy. As someone who’s generally shy, the idea of putting my thoughts out there has always felt a bit daunting. But after some reflection, I’ve decided it’s time to embrace this journey and connect with others who share my love for language, teaching, and self-expression.
I was born and raised in Louisiana, where the richness of culture, cuisine and storytelling shaped my love for words. Eventually, I made my way to Texas for college, where I’ve been ever since, pursuing my passion for education and making a difference in the lives of my students.
This blog is a space for me to share ideas, stories, and experiences I’ve gathered along the way. Whether it’s about teaching, writing, or navigating life, I hope you find something here that resonates with you.
